5 days in Portland Oregon

September 27th - October 3rd 2025

Come with me on my spontaneous trip to Portland Oregon!

Some may be stressed the F out to plan a spontaneous trip to a place they’ve never been. I was inspired to take this trip for many reasons.

2 friends moved out here during COVID. I have yet to visit them, and like a broken record I kept saying I would visit. I could only make it work if I came September 27th-October 3rd. And it fucking worked!

More reasons why? I’m hopefully starting a new job any day now. I saved up money for a previous trip that didn’t work out. My girlfriend and sister both already made travel plans for the year. And I found cheap(er) plane tickets. I had to take advantage of the opportunity—and I feel like I did it all.

September 27th, Saturday - Travel Day!

Rae drove me to Cleveland’s Airport and I got to see his new apartment he moved to this past July.

I arrived in PDX around 11:00pm PCT (2:00amEST). Hyped from the adrenaline, my next mission was to take the MAX Red line to my hostel.

While on the train, I ferociously hunted down my 1st meal in Portland. I found Billy’s Burgers food cart right outside the train stop and ordered the Jalapeño Cheeseburger with crispy onions. The fries were really well seasoned, crispy and hearty. Reflecting on my trip, I can attest Portland knows how to serve a good fry. (i’m guessing his name is) Billy, was also incredible nice. I loved what I was greeted with stepping off the train in Portland.

Checking into the hostel after hours was a very different experience LOL but it’s all in the past now and makes for a *very* silly story.

I claimed my bed and it ended up being the best choice in the long run! Great choice Al :) Also a little funny because I didn’t have much choice— I arrived super late and the beds were full, so it was the easiest grab without being too noisy. But like I said, it ended up working out perfectly! I definitely had the best spot in the dorm.

I explored the hostel for a tiny bit and fell asleep around 1:30-2AM. (4:30-5AM EST)

Day 1 - September 28th, Sunday

September 29th - Monday

Blog Post Title Two

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
